Matty Brown became the latest AFC player to sign a contract with The Club. This has come on the back of a fantastic level of consistency and proving what a vital player he has become for The Non-League Reds.
His 50th appearance came in the recent FA Vase defeat away at Winsford and Matty now stands on a total of 53 games and with 6 goals.
On reaching the 50 game milestone, Matty told us, “It feels amazing! To come through the Reserves with Scott & Steve and then make it to the 1st Team has been great. Hopefully I can push on and make many more.” Matty has played in most positions for AFC this season and added, “I’m happy to play anywhere really. Haven’t been asked to play in goal yet and hopefully that will never happen.”
What does signing the contract mean to Matty? “It’s nice to get this recognition and I’m hoping that I can continue to play well and be a big player for AFC.”
Manager Phil Stafford was equally pleased, “Matty is a great player and does whatever’s asked of him, to the best of his ability. Matty signing this contract is another big plus for us.”
Congratulations to Matty and here's to many more appearances for The Non-League Reds.
